12: Cory Heimann: Custodian of Beauty

12: Cory Heimann: Custodian of Beauty

Its been so difficult waiting to publish this interview with Cory Heimann, I'm up at midnight chugging tea and waking up the neighbors I'm so excited. Cory sat down with me to talk about his art: Likable Art. We went deep on what art is, what it means to call yourself an artist, art as relationship with the Creator, and if bad art even exists. I also got to ask him some questions about his video editing workflow and he shares some tips for video recording.  And I really loved his advice to follow your curiosity in all projects and art. This episode has by far the most show notes, and they're all super great stuff. Enjoy this interview and go make something. No more excuses.

04: The Bite "Reborn"

Talky Talky. The Bite has been raised from the dead like Lazarus. The Bite is many things. Chris and Edmund try to get back in the swing. Edmund tries to open up Q&A. People text us. Quality radio. The good parts are later in. What is a napoleon pocket? Where do you put your hands while walking up to communion? Chris reacts to a catechism paragraph and can't handle it.

03: Patrick Mahon Interview

03: Patrick Mahon Interview

Patrick Mahon is a humble man with a great heart for music and words. He's possibly the best sounding health care worker you've heard. In this super enjoyable interview we talk about his long history as a lover of music, and his enjoyment of the tones of music.

Patrick is kickstarting his first formally recorded album, a two sided piece called "Allegheny". He plays one of the tracks off the upcoming album called "Austria" that speaks about his experience living in a renovated Carthusian Monastery through Franciscan University's study abroad program in Austria. Not very many people have heard the full song, so take advantage of this first peek.

I really hope you enjoy this interview and Patrick as much as I did.

02: Let's Get Into It! Paragraphs 1-3

What is the basic Gospel message? In this podcast, Michael "Gomer" Gormley and Edmund Mitchell tackle the first 3 paragraphs of the Catechism, which are arguably some of the best paragraphs in the entire Catechism. In this podcast you'll get a feel for the basic components of the Gospel message (or kerygma). We also talk about why the Catechism is not a dead document, but a living one, and how we should relate to the teaching of the Church. So enough talking about talking about the Catechism, let's dive right in!

You can read along here at Catholiccrossreference.com. Click "catechism search engine".

P.S. This podcast is now on itunes, so check it out and subscribe! Also, it would mean the world to us if you left a review on itunes. Thanks!

The Bite: Pilot Episode

Our first attempt at this whole podcast thing. In this episode Chris, Edmund, and Alan rant about why they are so gosh darn excited about what was then called The Catechism Movement.

Some things have a bite to them: whiskey, Walker Percy, and the Catechism are a few of those things. Join us as we explore the Catechism, the faith, and culture one bite at a time. It's like, the best catechism-inspired hilarious and fuzzy podcast with a bite we know of. Inside jokes abound and its definitely not for children under 18, or communists.
